work has been crazy busy (the post office...go figure)! i love the week before christmas! not the mad rush of customers so much, but the the lull that follows. in that time we par-tay! many of our nicest customers have been spoiling us with chocolates and homemade goodies! work buys the office food, and we clerks set up our own cofffee mess. today was our gift exchange. jimi was my secret santa, and she gave me a $25 gift card to AMC theaters...thank you! cindy, our supervisor, was so nice to set up a white elephant gift exchange for us and provide all the presents! i ended up with the movie serendipity on DVD which is awesome because i've never seen it, and i've wanted to! also way back in my blog i had taken a "what john cusack movie are you?" quiz, and i was serendipity!
to do list:
clean house
bake goodies
wrap gifts
be ready for noah's baptism on sunday (food, favors, etc)
"everyday, once a day, give yourself a present." and i did!
show us what winter means to you.
winter means many different things to me...
warm clothes, more blankets, hot drinks, good food, sweet treats, christmas, family, friends, love, giving, helping those less fortunate, more work (i work for the post office).
but this year winter and everything it brings means one special celebration...
our baby's first christmas!
live...
laugh...
love!
today we took noah to the picture people (i recommend!) for his christening photos. he's wearing a tiny barong his grandpa brought him back from the philippines! he wasn't feeling well due to yesterday's shots...so it was hard to get any smiles out of him. he started crying shortly into the session and didn't stop! we only had about 9 photos to choose from, but i like the ones we did get!
where does the time go? noah had his 6 month check-up on wed. his stats: 19lbs 13oz, 27 1/2" tall and head circumference 17 3/4". he got 3 shots including the flu shot, and developed a bit of a fever. poor baby!
tonight we ate pancakes for dinner. i used the "melt-in-your-mouth" recipe from the back of the the bisquick box. besides the basic mix, milk and eggs...it calls for a little sugar, lemon juice and baking powder. it really made the pancakes so much fluffier! you can see it in the picture!
my wonderful husband
sweet, healthy baby
parents that love and help us
good friends
my job
it's starting to feel like winter around here...so i changed my theme. is it possible to walk into stores and not be bitten by the christmas bug? i heart christmas theme stuff! check out...
